The best music websites, downloads, mobile campaigns and artists online - The Interactive Music Awards 2003 is the official home of the best in interactive music over the past year. Over the next 2 months expert panels will be discovering which artists have done the most to reach their fans online, how broadband is changing the way you see and hear music and which are the most exciting innovations in the world of interactive music. We'll also be asking music fans to vote for the best videos online, their favourite DVDs, the most popular online radio stations and interactive tv programmes, as well as their artist of the year.
Hosted this year for the second time by BT, the IMAs promises to highlight the best that the UK has to offer in interactive music.
The Awards comprises two types of categories: ones with professionals sites, campaigns and innovations from the past year to be judged by expert panels; and ones which will be voted for by music fans. The primary anticipated participants in the judged awards include TV channels, online radio stations, record company new media and marketing executives, specialist music websites, web designers and producers, online music retailers and distributors, online music magazines, soft and hardware manufacturers and providers, digital marketing companies, webcasters, network and telecoms providers and digital rights management companies.
The awards voted for by the public are designed for music lovers aged 5 to 85! They will be directed to the site to win tickets and prizes.
The event itself will comprise an exclusive Awards Ceremony on December 2nd, 2003 for around 250 guests made up of the nominees, media, competition winners and sponsors. Last year the Ceremony was hosted by the legendary Chuck D, who flew in from the USA especially to help promote the event.
The Ceremony will be followed later in the evening by the Awards Party for around 500 guests which will include music fans and competition winners as well as professionals from the music and interactive businesses. The Party will feature live performances and DJ sets from some of the UKís leading lights in the interactive arena. Admission to both parts of the event will be by invitation only, so in order to be there, you have to take part either as an entrant, competition winner, sponsor or media partner!
