Kaki King has been the
"stuntgirl" on a new movie starring Robin Williams and Freddie
Highmore.
The story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) and a sheltered
young cellist (Keri Russell) who have a chance encounter one magical night above
New York's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant,
August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York
and cared for by a mysterious stranger (Robin Williams), August (Freddie Highmore)
uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated
at birth.
Production begun in New York on the music-driven drama "August Rush"
starring Freddie Highmore ("Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory"),
Keri Russell ("The Upside
of Anger"), Jonathan Rhys-Meyers
("Match Point"), Terrence Howard ("Crash")
and Robin Williams.
Kirsten Sheridan is directing the film from a screenplay she co-wrote with
Richard Barton Lewis, Nick Castle, and Jim Hart. Lewis is producing "August
Rush" with Robert Greenhut, Miky Lee, Ralph Kamp and Louise Goodsill executive
producing. John Mathieson is the director of photograph and Michael Shaw is onboard
as the production designer.
According to a press release issued by Warner Bros, Phil Ramone will produce
three of the nearly three dozen musical tracks featured in the movie. Hans Zimmer
and Mark Mancina will create the movie's main theme, with Mancina also
composing the score.
Kaki has been the body/hand double for the little musical prodigy kid. She
also performed two of the guitar pieces, one of which is a Michael Hedges
tune called "Ritual Dance."
